Corrections and editorial policy

A site about what to buy is only worth reading if it's honest about how it knows things and what happens when it's wrong. This page sets both out.

Who writes this

BasketLab is written and maintained by a small independent team in the UK, not by a brand, a retailer or a PR agency. There is no sponsored content on this site, no paid placement, and no arrangement under which a company can buy a better verdict. If that ever changes, it will be labelled on the page it affects, not buried here.

We aren't doctors, vets, dentists or pharmacists. On anything touching health, we describe what a product is and what the official UK guidance says, and we point you to the NHS, your GP, a pharmacist or a vet for advice about you or your animal. We don't diagnose, and we don't claim a supplement treats anything.

Where our facts come from

What we don't do

When we get something wrong

We publish across 2,915 products, so mistakes happen: a pack size changes, a product is reformulated, a manufacturer's own listing is wrong, or we simply misread something. Our policy is straightforward.

  1. Factual error. We fix it as soon as we can verify it, and the page's update date changes.
  2. Something that changed a recommendation. We fix it and add a short note on the page saying what changed and when, rather than quietly editing history.
  3. Safety-relevant error. We take the claim down first and verify afterwards. A recall or safety notice is handled the same day we learn of it.
  4. A product is discontinued or delisted. We mark it rather than leaving a page that looks current.

We don't delete a page to make an error disappear. If a correction is significant enough that someone might have acted on the old version, the note stays on the page.

Report an error

If you spot something wrong, tell us. A specific message gets fixed faster than a general one, so if you can, include the page address and what looks wrong. Price complaints are worth checking twice: our prices are live, so a difference usually means Amazon changed it between your two visits, or you're seeing a different seller or pack size.

Email hello@basketlab.co.uk or use the contact page. We read everything, and we answer anything that needs an answer.
