Music Prime vs Music Unlimited
Easy to muddle these. Music Prime comes free with Prime and gives shuffle access to a big library. Music Unlimited is the paid upgrade: on-demand, full catalogue, better sound, the proper Spotify rival. The trial is usually a token 99p for three months, which is a genuinely good way to test it.
Who it suits
If you've an Echo or already pay for Prime, Unlimited slots in neatly and the Alexa control is excellent. If you're deep into Spotify playlists and its Wrapped-style features, the switch is more hassle than it's worth. Sound quality is strong, including lossless on supported gear.
The verdict
A cheap, low-risk trial and a solid service, best for Echo and Prime households. Committed Spotify users rarely have a reason to move.
