How long does a home gel manicure last?
Properly cured gel usually lasts two to three weeks without chipping, far longer than standard polish. The key is prep: clean, dry nails, thin coats, and curing each layer fully under the lamp. Cutting corners on prep is the main reason gel lifts early. A good base and top coat make a real difference.
Is gel nail polish safe to use at home?
Used correctly it is fine, but take care with the UV lamp and removal. Do not peel gel off, as it takes layers of natural nail with it. Soak in acetone instead. If you get redness or lasting soreness around the nail, stop and see a professional. Patch test new products if your skin reacts easily.
What do I need to start doing my own nails?
